Job: Experienced Child Care Teacher for 2-3 year olds

POSITION SUMMARY:

In this position, the incumbent will:

Provides children with a nurturing and respectful environment that meets the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs.

Demonstrates an awareness of safety for both actions participated in and equipment utilized by self and children.

Assures that all children receive proper personal care and attention to their toileting/diapering, clothing and health needs.

Assists the children in learning good social and self-help skills through promoting this development in activities such as meals.

Plans weekly activities based on the developmental needs of children and the prescribed format for the particular program.

Maintains classroom and work environment.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Have satisfactorily completed ( or be enrolled in with an obligation to complete ) 80 hours of approved training or have earned years of documented credit in an institution of higher education with at least 3 credits equivalent to early childhood education or other department-approved competency program

Satisfactory completion of the requirements of Child Care Teacher as described in HSS 55, Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Centers

Receive and maintain current certification in First Aide and CPR ( encouraged, but not required for those on a substitute/occasional basis )
