Jobing Description
SUMMARY:

Baird is looking for a highly motivated individual to manage and oversee the day to day and long-term strategic activities of the Fee Based Administration department. The candidate will develop and implement new procedures to monitor productivity, quality output levels and increase efficiency. The manager will provide leadership and participate in the development of staff through coaching, mentoring and training. He or she will also provide direct support to the field and other internal Baird departments in administering all advisory programs for PWM. The ideal candidate must make sound, effective business decisions, taking into consideration industry trends, proposals, mandates, compliance/regulatory requirements and operational capabilities/limitations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversee operational aspects of Baird advisory programs including billing, opening, closing, as well trade processing related to solution changes.

2. Manage daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly operations including reconciliation of Baird general ledgers, trade errors related to advisory accounts and payout to both internal and external managers and Baird Financial Advisors.

3. Stay on top of industry trends and use that knowledge to help prioritize initiatives, develop standards, and set priorities and policies.

4. Establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external clients and vendors.

5. Conduct regular individual and departmental meetings with associates to assist with their coaching and support. This includes mid-year progress checks, annual goal setting and performance evaluations.

6. Work closely with other Baird departments (such as: Product Management, Performance, Advisory Trading & Support and Finance) to facilitate the most efficient way to introduce new programs and support/maintain the existing programs.

7. Attend industry conferences/roundtables where necessary.

8. Work with other departments to educate the field on existing and new advisory programs.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field. Minimum of 10 years work experience with 5 years in the financial services industry required.

2. Series 7 and 66 required and Series 9, 10 and 24 optional.

3. Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced team environment with minimal supervision.

4. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to take on new projects and complete them timely and accurately.

5. Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.

6. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Access.

7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
