Employment Term: Regular Employment Type: Full Time Hours per Week: 40 Work Hours (i.e. shift): 1st Shift Start Date: ASAP Starting Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000/Yr Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Required Experience: 3 to 20+ years Related Categories: Manufacturing - Support Operations, Engineering - Mechanical, Engineering - Industrial Position Description *This position deals specifically with die cast quality issues *Must Have PPAP experience in Automotive Industry Duties • Detailed knowledge of interpretation of mechanical drawings • Working experience with Quality Systems - ISO-9000 specifications and processes • Understand mechanical inspection with CMM (knowledge of CMM software a plus, gauges and handheld instruments) • Ability to analyze quality problems and develop cause and corrective action plans • Working knowledge of SPC • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing Managers as a key team member to keep production flowing • Willing to interface with customer-s technical staffs, engineering, quality and purchasing to address complaints and problems • In conjunction with Engineering and Production staffs prepare quality assurance plans • Perform internal audits of operations and process control plans in accordance with ISO requirements • Develop PPAP submittal information for projects as required, including identification of critical characteristics, control plans, PFMEAs, flow charts, gauge selection and development, gauge R&Rs, inspection criteria and visual aid development • Meet with customers to address problems and improvements to products and work with other departments as part of corrective action teams Requirements • Education: Prefer BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering with three years experience • Understand and effectively utilize quality system principles, i.e., QMS, Six Sigma, auditing, inspection, process analysis, process mapping and project management • Understand and use process control measures • Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization • Effective reporting, writing and presentation skills • Ability to follow direction, work independently and provide timely feedback on projects as directed • Ability to, with some direction, analyze problems, research root cause and present recommendations for resolution • Strong working knowledge of GD&T Additional Comments • Ideal candidate will have: high-level problem solving and deductive reasoning skills; the ability to analyze complex problems and recommend/implement solutions as directed; capacity to prioritize and multi-task; ability to translate business needs into technical specifications; project management proficiency; strong customer service and communication skills; and the capability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
