Great Lakes Educational Loan Services, Inc is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer to join our Communications Support unit. The Communications team is primarily responsible for the design, implementation, and support of our voice, video and data networks. The primary systems and technologies supported by the Communications team include: Aspect Automated Call Distribution (ACD); Aspect Predictive Dialer; IBM WebSphere Voice Response (IVR); PBX systems (Mitel); Voicemail Systems (AVST); Adtran Multiplexer & ATLAS; VoIP Services(DHCP, TFTP, SIP; Security); WAN configuration (Internet, MPLS); routing; leased lines and SONET. The Comm. team is also responsible for Aspect reporting, disaster recovery, IP space management, network diagnostics and protocol analysis.
Specific duties of this position include designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise based, VoIP telecommunication systems, which include Mitel VoIP, AVST Voicemail, Mitel AWC, the Aspect ACD, Predictive Dialer, Voice Response, Adtran telecom gateways and other communications/network servers to support our call centers and business-support personnel. The successful candidate will become an active participant in the monitoring, managing and supporting of the telecommunications infrastructure in our main office and remote sites as well as take part in the on-call rotation. Skills / Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
• Knowledge equivalent to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field of study. • Experience designing, implementing and supporting PBX systems (Mitel) • Experience designing, implementing and supporting Audio and Web Conferencing systems (Mitel) • Experience designing, implementing and supporting voicemail systems (AVST) • Extensive knowledge and experience in designing, implementing and supporting large scale VoIP Systems • Working with third-party vendors • Demonstrated strong customer service & troubleshooting skills • Demonstrated strong team building, consulting, and facilitation skills • Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects on time, on budget, and with the required functionality Desired Skills and Experience • Experience installing and configuring Adtran ATLAS (550, 830, 890) and MX2800 IMUX for connecting Multiple PRI devices to Vendor PRI Circuit(s). • Aspect Predictive Dialer and/or Unified IP • Experience with Microsoft Unified Communications • IBM’s WebSphere Voice Response (IVR) • Polycom IP phones • Familiar with TCP/IP, MPLS and Quality of Service (QoS) concepts • Installing, configuring and administering LAN/WAN technologies • Proficient with AIX, Windows and Linux operating systems • General knowledge of programming and scripting languages We offer attractive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package and outstanding growth potential.
