Job: Infant and Toddler Child Care Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY:


This position is full time, 40 hours per week.

This position will work specifically with an infant and toddler age group, a crucial age for development. In this position, the incumbent will:


Provides children with a nurturing and respectful environment that meets the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs.


Demonstrates an awareness of safety for both actions participated in and equipment utilized by self and children.


Assures that all children receive proper personal care and attention to their toileting/diapering, clothing and health needs.


Assists the children in learning good social and self-help skills through promoting this development in activities such as meals.


Plans weekly activities based on the developmental needs of children and the prescribed format for the particular program.


Maintains classroom and work environment.

At minimum, have completed the following courses: Introduction to the Child Care Profession, Skill and Strategies of a Child Care Teacher, and Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care

Receive and maintain current certification in First Aide and CPR ( encouraged, but not required for those on a substitute/occasional basis )
