POSITION: Business Office Administrative Assistant
HOURS/STATUS: Full-time/Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Market Business Office Director & Financial Aid Manager START DATE: November 2009 LOCATION: Milwaukee Market ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: --Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate party. --Maintain Petty Cash --Student account payment processing and posting --Ensure proper processing of student transcript requests. --Direct students to appropriate party. --Communicate with students via phone and email regarding documentation needed to complete financial aid process. --Field questions about student refund checks. --Answer questions about financial aid and student accounts. --Prepare correspondence to current and former students. --Reconcile financial aid reports with various other reports. --Perform administrative tasks as assigned by Financial Aid staff. --Stamp mail using postage machine. --Update site codes as needed. --Develop a working knowledge of all student financial aid programs administered by the Financial Aid Office. --Responsible for developing and maintaining working relationships with other departments on campus to achieve enrollment and retention goals. --Actively participate to ensure timely delivery of assistance and services given to students. --Perform duties in a manner that is congruent with the College’s vision, standards and ethics. --Other duties as assigned by your Manager. COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: --Bachelor’s degree required, will consider candidates with Associate degrees with correct skill set. --Detail oriented personality, organized, persistent and determined. --Skills in prioritizing, organizing and problem solving. --Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and work with diverse groups. --Must thrive on working in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment where attention to detail is a must. --Must possess a drive for excellence.
