Job Description:
The Supervisor ? Director of Nursing is responsible for creating an environment in which physicians, staff and volunteers can perform at their best to meet customer expectations. The Supervisor ? Director of Nursing is responsible and accountable for the effective overall operations of all aspects of clinical services. The Supervisor ? Director of Nursing establishes functional teams to achieve clinical, financial and service expectations within the framework of the mission, vision and strategic plan of the organization. Essential Job Duties: 1. Promotes the vision and values of the organization and provides effective overall leadership to staff at all levels--physicians, volunteers and others who carry out the mission of the organization. 2. Insures that customer-defined service expectations are established and measured, and that action plans are defined and implemented to close the gap between actual and expected. 3. Supervises the continuous improvement initiatives and champions the effective implementation of these process improvements. 4. Supervises the goal-setting process for the department and involves team members in the development and implementation of said goals. 5. Supervises and/or supports special projects within the department and systemwide as directed by manager. 6. Works to establish a cooperative, collaborative relationship with all members of the team and organization wide. 7. Plans for contingencies and responds quickly to resolve day-to-day problems and unforeseen circumstances. 8. Hires and provides supervision and development of staff. 9. Demonstrates effective interpersonal and customer service skills. 10. Serves as a communication and education liaison for staff. 11. Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and supports other employees in this pursuit. 12. Supervises the daily activities/operations of the department. 13. Provides leadership in the effective assessment of patient care required, and supervises and ensures the patient care plan is followed by staff. 14. Is seen as an expert in area of nursing home and elderly care, and is respected as a source of information and expertise. 15. Oversees the medical records department and unit clerk. 16. Oversees the MDS processes, coordinator and related staff. 17. Demonstrates collaborative wellness culture in daily job tasks.
Job Qualifications:
Requirements: Experience: Sufficient, progressively responsible, relevant experience in leadership positions at the management level; at least 3-5 years preferred. Operations management experience in healthcare setting highly preferred. Education: A minimum of a BSN degree. An advanced degree in nursing, management or another appropriate field that provides the knowledge and skills needed to successfully carry out the responsibilities of this position. Licensure/Certification: A Registered Nurse with current licensure in the State of Wisconsin Complete Application
