Job Description:
The Practice Administrator is an administrative leader responsible for implementing the organizational and departmental/clinic mission, vision, and goals. The manager is responsible for effective overall department/ business unit operation and insuring that requirements for quality, service, and value are met or exceeded. The manager is responsible for all aspects of staff management, departmental/business unit management, and for creating a professional practice environment that focuses on the customer. Essential Job Duties: 1. Manages the department/unit to insure that processes and services meet the requirements of the customer for quality, service, and cost. 2. Develops annual goals and tactics consistent with the business plan. 3. Develops and manages an annual budget. 4. Develops standards and guidelines that insure high quality and service while balancing the financial needs of the organization. 5. Implements quality improvement activities to continuously improve quality, processes, and service. 6. Creates a professional practice environment that focuses on the customer; insures that the environment is safe for personnel, patients, and visitors within the department. 7. Insures that the department has an adequate number of qualified staff. 8. Manages department /unit staff to include ultimate responsibility for hiring, orientation, performance management including competency assessment, corrective action and, if warranted, discharge. 9. Demonstrates commitment to continuously learn and develop, both professionally and personally, and facilitates the professional growth and development of staff. 10. Works collaboratively with others (i.e., medical staff, managers/staff from other departments and divisions) to promote communication and achieve goals by working interdependently. 11. Maintains compliance with governmental and regulatory agency requirements.
Job Qualifications:
Experience: Sufficient, progressively responsible, relevant experience in practice administrator role. At least 5-7 years experience preferred. ThedaCare Improvement System experience or process improvement methology experience preferred. Education: Bachelor?s degree, preferably related to a field within the healthcare industry and a combination of education and business/work experiences in health care management appropriate for the position.
