AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Design/Construction Engineer for employment in the Middleton, WI office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform plan and contract document preparation associated with roadway infrastructure improvements
  • Work under the direct supervision of senior staff to develop plans and calculate quantities for transportation improvements
  • Assist in the development of roadway geometrics, alignments, roadside design, drainage design, stormwater management, pavement design, traffic staging, utility coordination, and permitting
  • Conduct field assignments including construction inspection, survey, site visits, etc.
  • Provide support to the highway, bridge, traffic, and transportation planning staff
  • Write technical reports
  • Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain work, etc. 
  • Prepare presentations for meetings.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation design and / or construction
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Microstation
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience in multiple elements of highway design
  • Experience in construction engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
  • GPS and Survey equipment knowledge
  • The ability to obtain WisDOT material certifications
