Overall Job Objective

General Description

The Parks & Recreation Department is looking for a Water Aerobics Instructor.  There are two (2) sessions that run from September - December.  Classes are held Monday, Wednesday & Thursday evenings at Syble Hopp School.


5:30 - 6:15 pm

Session 1:  September 5 - October 17
Session 2:  October 24 - December 12 (No class Nov. 28)

6:20 - 7:05 pm
Session 1:  September 5 - October 17
Session 2:  October 24 - December 12 (No class Nov. 28)

Pay:  Starting at $13.00 / hr. + prep time

**There is opportunity for additional hours as substitute for Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Essential Functions

Must have experience in general fitness teachings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of fitness/aerobic techniques and workouts.

Minimum Requirements & Physical Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Organized and responsible with a good general work history.
  • Ability to communicate and work with all ages.

Certifications required:
  • Lifeguard training, Community First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

    5. It is highly recommended that candidates wishing to take a class, call the location hosting the course to ensure they will actually run the class.  As one can understand, if there are not enough participants, they will cancel the course.
