14489BR

Department
Professional Services

Job Description
Responsible for the successful delivery of projects as assigned. Oversee all aspects of projects. Create a work breakdown structure and project plan in Microsoft Project which sets deadlines and assigns responsibilities (both internal and external).  Monitor progress on a regular and ongoing basis and update the plan to reflect actual performance. Prepare project status reports for clients and, as required, for internal management. Act as the single point of contact for the client as it relates to the project. Take responsibility for all aspects of the project.
Successful delivery includes delivering on time, on budget and with a high level of client satisfaction.
• On Time is determined by assessing the project plan and determining if the project was delivered within the baseline for the plan that was established at CRD approval. Acceptable delays include only those which are documented in a change control that is signed by the client and accompanied by a cost impact statement.
• On Budget is determined by comparing the actual project costs at project closure to the hours matrix and order agreement in place at project initiation. Acceptable overages are only those which are accompanied by a change control that is signed by and billed to the client.
• High Level of Client Satisfaction is measured via our annual customer survey. A response of 4 or 5 regarding Professional Services is the standard for this achievement. Consideration will be given in those cases where multiple projects are managed by different project managers. Required to meet the client billability levels and billing rates as established for this position.

Accountabilities:
  • Create estimates and custom Statements of Work with input from the Customer, Sales, Solution Management and the project team for purposes of customer quote and sale of services as required. Success is measured by the accuracy of the estimates developed when compared with the final costs of the project. Estimates should be within 10% of the actual costs, not including changes in scope.
  • Review all executed documents on assigned projects to understand project scope and deliverables to be provided. This includes SOWs, Order Agreements, Master Agreements, etc.
  • Create, review, and evaluate project plans and objectives utilizing Microsoft Project.
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating resources and activities and resolving issues. Resolve project issues by clarifying the issue, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
  • Lead and direct one or more project teams by directing the activities of both internal resources and customers throughout the project to completion, while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate with clients, internal resources and outside vendors to establish schedules, milestones, etc., using project change control as necessary.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, action items, risks and issues to customers and management.
  • Apply effective project management methodologies and control techniques according to the WAUSAU Professional Services guidelines and in accordance with PMP principles.
  • Prepare project documentation; organize and conduct project meetings.
  • Manage project delivery through the various lifecycle stages from project initiation through project closure.
  • Develop external change controls to manage all external client changes to the project whether those changes have a cost impact or not
  • Ensure optimal resource utilization by managing and updating project and resource schedules. Release resources as soon as practical.
