We are seeking a strong leader with relevant pricing experience in the P&C industry and an ACAS or FCAS designation. This role will be responsible for the design and development of ratemaking structure for Homesite's new Renters segment products. This person will lead complex actuarial analyses such as pricing new programs, coverages/endorsements, enhancing GLMs and other multivariate models.
Reporting to the Director of Renters Product Development, this position also offers an excellent opportunity to interact with a variety of departments in the organization to research, design and build enhancements and new pricing capabilities for products that are existing, under development and in consideration.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
Pricing Development of New Products: The Pricing Manager will provide input and contribute to establishing the national strategy for Renters; Manages the design, development and implementation of countrywide rating plans, including the development of new programs, coverages, endorsements and perils; Leads the analysis, timeline and work for return on equity (ROE) for the pricing model; Employs a customer focused approach to evaluating and developing pricing frameworks; Support Implementation: Partners with other business functions regarding new product pricing models and model development, new product roll-out and implementation; Responsible for compliance and support with justifying rate standards used for the respective State Insurance Dept.; Department Management and Leadership: Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise while gaining trust; Fosters and builds a highly functioning team; Develops staff by coaching, providing feedback, conducting performance assessments and creating development plans; Functional Expertise: Become an expert in renters insurance pricing matters that cut across traditional products and tangential lines/industries.
Relevant Experience: A minimum of 8 years of professional experience, including work in Property & Casualty insurance; Demonstrated experience leading highly complex national pricing development projects; Experience in property insurance pricing desired; Exams: ACAS or FCAS designation; Educational Credentials: A bachelor’s degree and quantitative analytical knowledge is required; a graduate degree is preferred, but not required; Entrepreneurial Mindset: A self-starter who can identify business opportunities, develop a product plan to capitalize on those opportunities, and successfully implement the plan; Structured & Logical Thinking: The ability to identify and define business problems and issues, and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analyses; Analytical Rigor: Analyze performance, identify additional areas of research, and recommend improvements; Demonstrated experience blending analytical skills, creative thinking and passion; Powerful Communication: The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly across a variety of media and management levels; Strong relationship building and presentations skills, including senior business leaders; Management Experience: Experience overseeing and leading the work of a group of people is preferred; Team Player: The candidate will need to work well both as part of a team and as a team leader; Results Oriented: Demonstrated ability to deliver results and willingness to personally move work forward in ambiguous situations; Software Experience: Demonstrated experience with relevant analytical tools and predictive modeling software sch as: of SQL, Emblem, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, Microstrategy, and/or other programming/data query/reporting knowledge, in addition, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel is required.
