Job Description

Position Summary
Responsible for providing leadership for day-to-day operations in an academic School. Representing the College and program-specific careers in the community, the Associate Dean has management responsibility for development, coordination, and supervision of various educational activities related to programs throughout an academic school offered in the District.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for providing day-to-day management of functions and activities in an academic School.

Provide support of existing programming to include evaluation processes, program review and TSA.

Supervise classes to ensure quality of curriculum, course design and delivery, adequate supplies and equipment, and enforcement of safety processes and procedures.

Ensure that curriculum is relevant, current, consistent, and congruent with appropriate WTCS standards, reflects input from program advisory committees and community partners and is formatted in the Worldwide Instructional Design System (WIDS).

Provide input to the Academic Dean in the development and implementation of course and certificate modifications, and investigation and implementation of new certificate, diploma, and degree program offerings.

Implement course and program modification and assign curriculum development based on college guidelines and processes.

Develop course schedules (fall, spring, and summer) and faculty workload assignments for full-time and part-time faculty.

Collaborate with Academic Dean to coordinate program accreditation/reaccreditation efforts and licensure, if applicable.

Collaborate with others to promote student recruitment, registration, orientation, retention and placement.

Respond to student and instructor concerns and issues, develop and implement solutions, and make recommendations to the Academic Dean when appropriate.

Collaborate with the Academic Dean in overseeing academic initiatives, instructional budgets, special projects, grants, and student/personnel issues in support of student retention and success.

Recruit, orient, mentor, evaluate and provide for the ongoing development and evaluation of faculty and/or support professionals. Provide input into the hiring process.

Review, prepare and submit revisions to College publications (e.g. program guides, cluster books, college website, and other marketing publications).

Guide internal and external communication and collaborative efforts.

Effectively prepare and maintain budget based on goals of the School and College.

Maintain facility and equipment, including management and inventory.

Maintain appropriate records.

Administer appropriate policies and procedures.

Obtain and maintain any applicable certifications/licensures.

Serve on College committees, attend College-wide activities, and participate in staff development activities and professional organizations.  Represent the college at state and local functions and attend events.

Responsible for campus evening supervision.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a field of employment related to the area of the school or in a post-secondary educational environment required.
 
Minimum of two years teaching experience at the secondary level or higher.
 
Prior supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership skills.
 
Must possess excellent problem resolution, organizational, interpersonal, communication, computer, and project management skills.
 
Must possess ability to:
